15 September 2016 Today we have sold and delivered the last of two dedicated firefighting vessels, named “Batouwe”, to her new owner Dick van der Kamp Shipsales. The vessel has been owned by the Dutch safety district “Gelderland-Zuid” since her commissioning in 1987, and operated from the city of Tiel. She has been in service for 29 years and always performed to everybody’s satisfaction, however it was time for fleet renewal and after the commissioning of the new vessel in September 2015 she was put on the market. Damen Trading acted as exclusive broker for both “Batouwe” and “Gelderland”, the latter was sold to Middle-Eastern buyers last week. The original crew of “Batouwe”, some of which have been working with her since new built, proudly took the chance to sail the vessel to Ridderkerk, her final trip under Government command. Former commander, Pieter van der Harm, says: “we always had faith in this vessel and were proud to sail her”, he wishes the new owner a safe journey. Find more used vessels for sale.
